Meet Our Team

  • Margaret Angelillo CRNP

    Margaret Angelillo, CRNP

    Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

    Margaret was born and raised in Alabama. She and Eliza (homeRN Founder) met as they were in the same pledge class and lived together as best friends for the next 3 years of college at the University of Alabama. In 2008, she graduated with a Bachelor’s in Nursing and began a career in critical care cardiology at UAB. In 2013, she became an acute care nurse practitioner (graduating with a master’s degree from UAB) and began working for Dr. Clifton Lewis, cardiovascular surgeon. She remains with Dr. Lewis and the CV surgeons at UAB today.

    Margaret has watched and cheered on homeRN from the beginning and is proud to be a part of the team. Her years of hospital and surgical experience will complement her ability to care for our patients.

    Margaret is married to Tommy. They have two girls (Louise and Annie) and live in Crestline. Margaret enjoys playing tennis and spending time with family and friends. She is also a big animal lover. She is excited about caring for patients in the comfort of their homes.

  • Adele Fink

    Adele Fink, RN

    Registered Nurse

    Born and raised in Anniston, Alabama, Adele earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and has called Birmingham home ever since. Her nursing career has been centered on critical care and imaging sedation at Children’s of Alabama, as well as caring for oncology patients in the infusion clinic at the Bruno Cancer Center.

    Adele is deeply dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients and their families, bringing both expertise and compassion to every interaction.

    Outside of work, Adele enjoys playing tennis, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.

  • Claire Raley

    Claire Raley, CRNP

    Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

    Born and raised in Birmingham, Alabama, Claire brings a deep passion for patient care and nearly a decade of specialized experience in the Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) specialty. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and began her nursing career in the Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit at UAB Hospital.

    Claire went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham in 2016. Over the last nine years, she has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner in the Otolaryngology Department at UAB and at Excel ENT of Alabama.

    At homeRN, Claire brings her extensive ENT expertise into a private, concierge-style care setting, providing expert pediatric ENT care and thoughtful, patient-centered treatment. She is passionate about helping patients not only feel better, but also understand the root cause of their symptoms. In addition to her clinical role with homeRN, Claire is a Co-Owner of homeRN Auburn Montgomery, where she helps expand access to high-quality, advanced nursing and urgent care services delivered in the comfort of home.

    In her free time, Claire enjoys spending quality time with her husband and their three children. Together, they love traveling and enjoying the outdoors as a family.

  • Kathleen Shashy CRNP

    Kathleen Shashy, CRNP

    Certified Registered Nurse Practitioner

    Kathleen is from Birmingham and graduated from Auburn University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing. After graduation she worked as an ICU nurse at UAB Hospital. She went on to obtain her Masters of Science in Nursing from UAB and began working in surgical dermatology as a nurse practitioner in 2019.

    With 7 years of nursing experience, Kathleen has worked in various healthcare settings, including critical care, private practice, and nurse education. Kathleen's role at homeRN includes overseeing our IV Therapy service and collaborating with our team of nurses on patient care. She was drawn to homeRN's model of providing individualized, nurse-led care in the comfort of the client's home and realizes the need for this service in our community. Her favorite part of nursing is providing education to patients and their loved ones. In addition to working at homeRN, she is a clinical associate at Samford University Moffett & Sanders School of Nursing, where she leads and teaches nursing students through their clinical rotations in the hospital.

    Outside of homeRN, Kathleen enjoys spending time at the lake, reading, and playing tennis. She and her husband have one son, Paul, and welcomed a new baby girl, Kit, in July 2024.

  • Lexie Taylor

    Lexie Taylor, RN

    Registered Nurse

    Alexa (Lexie) has lived across many locations in the U.S., but Birmingham has been her cherished home for the past decade. She earned her Masters of Public Health from UAB’s School of Public Health in 2019. Driven by a passion for health education, Alexa continued her studies and completed her Masters of Science in Nursing through UAB’s Accelerated Master's in Nursing Pathway (AMNP) program in Spring 2021. Since then, she has been dedicated to caring for new mothers and infants in the postpartum unit at Brookwood Baptist Hospital. Alexa finds deep fulfillment in helping families transition into parenthood, supporting them through their earliest days together.

    In her personal life, Alexa is a wife and mother to three wonderful children. She enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, painting, making sourdough, and spending time with friends and family. Alexa is thrilled to be a part of the exceptional team at homeRN and is excited to serve the incredible families of the Birmingham community.

  • Maddie Thompson

    Maddie Thompson, RN

    Registered Nurse

    Maddie is originally from the growing town of Prattville, AL. After graduating from Samford University’s School of Nursing in 2019, she began her career at UAB’s Level One Emergency and Trauma Department. During her time at UAB, she earned her way to Trauma Nurse Team Lead in the critical and acute care trauma setting. During the peak of Covid-19, she worked as a “frontliner” and travel RN in emergency departments in the southeast. Maddie also works as a Clinical Associate for Samford University, teaching Critical and Acute Care to senior nursing students. Maddie joined homeRN as a part time IV infusion nurse in the summer of 2023 and then officially joined the team full time in January 2024. Maddie has a calling for patients when they are in their deepest time of need. In her free time, Maddie loves to play golf, tennis, or spend time with her best friends, boyfriend, and family.
