  Rachel Johannes, RN

  Owner, homeRN Huntsville

  Rachel is a native Texan turned Alabamian after graduating from The University of Alabama’s Capstone College of Nursing. Rachel began working with homeRN Birmingham at it's launch in 2021. Rachel immediately fell in love with the patients, caregivers, and everything that goes with growing a new business. Rachel obtained her Master’s in Nursing Administration in 2022 and is proud to have played a role in the immense growth of homeRN Birmingham and expansion into franchising in 2023 as director of operations. After supporting the sale and launch of six homeRN franchises, Rachel is excited to bring homeRN to Huntsville while continuing to work as Director of Development for the homeRN brand.

  Rachel wholeheartedly believes in the mission of homeRN and is excited about the endless possibilities of finding innovative ways to enhance homeRN’s services to deliver care with compassion and convenience. Rachel and her husband Grant, a Huntsville native, are excited to spend more time with friends and family in the Rocket City and bring great care to the community!

  Katie Abston, RN

  Registered Nurse

  A Huntsville native, Katie earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Auburn University and spent the first five years of her career in a high‑acuity Neuro ICU. She honed advanced clinical skills there and discovered that exceptional outcomes come from compassionate, consistent, advocacy‑driven care.

  Katie brings that same dedication to homeRN Huntsville, partnering with families to create customized care plans that honor each client’s goals, routines, and dignity. Whether coordinating complex medication schedules or offering a reassuring presence, Katie relentlessly pursues the best for every patient she serves.

  When she’s not on duty, you’ll find Katie spending time with her husband, Ethan, and their chocolate Lab, Miller. She’s proud to give back to the Huntsville community she loves.

  Addysen Baugher, RN

  Registered Nurse

  Born and raised in Huntsville, Addy earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. She began her career in women’s health, gaining experience on the Mother-Baby unit and in an OB/GYN office before transitioning to hospice case management.

  In her hospice role, she has developed a deep passion for end-of-life care, providing comfort to patients and offering steadfast emotional support to loved ones. She values building lasting relationships with families and considers it an honor to walk alongside them during such meaningful moments.

  Now at homeRN Huntsville, Addy brings that same dedication to compassionate, family-centered care. Whether coordinating clinical needs or being a steady, reassuring presence, she strives to ensure each patient is cared for with dignity and respect.

  Outside of work, Addy enjoys traveling, cheering on the Crimson Tide, spending time at the lake, and being with friends and family. She is excited to serve and support the Huntsville community that has always felt like home.

  Kristen Owens,

  Office Administrator

  Kristen is a proud Huntsville native, born and raised in the heart of Alabama. She holds a Bachelor of Arts with a concentration in Health Care Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville. With over eight years of experience in the healthcare field, Kristen has recently discovered her passion for in-home health care—a space where she feels she can make the biggest impact.

  Known for her behind-the-scenes dedication, Kristen finds purpose in ensuring every patient is not only well cared for but also deeply loved. Her attention to detail and compassionate approach help create a sense of comfort and trust for those she serves. In addition to thoughtfully matching caregivers to each client, Kristen is a natural skilled caregiver.

  Outside of work, Kristen enjoys spending quality time outdoors with her husband and their 2-year-old son, embracing the simple joys of living the family life.
